Coral Nymph Sage | Salvia coccinea ‘Coral Nymph’ | Texas Sage ‘Coral Nymph’ | Hummingbird Sage ‘Coral Nymph’

Coral Nymph Salvia is a compact, sun-loving tender perennial (grown as an annual in cooler climates) prized for its profusion of delicate, bicolored tubular flowers featuring bright coral-pink lower lips and pale white upper hoods that bloom continuously from early summer until the first frost. This exceptional selection is known for its uniform, well-branched habit, outstanding performance in both heat and humidity, and ability to thrive in a variety of conditions. Its nectar-rich blossoms rise gracefully on slender spikes above aromatic, heart-shaped green foliage, acting as a powerful magnet for hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees. Making a standout choice for pollinator gardens, mixed containers, cottage gardens, and sunny to partially shaded landscape borders, Coral Nymph offers soft, charming color and reliable performance with minimal maintenance.

Growing Coral Nymph Salvia
Light: Full sun to partial shade; produces the most abundant blooms and a tighter habit in full sun, but highly appreciates light afternoon shade in regions with extremely hot summer climates.

Soil: Average, well-drained soil; highly adaptable to various soil types but will not tolerate soggy, waterlogged conditions.

Water: Moderate; water regularly until established, after which it becomes relatively drought-tolerant, requiring supplemental watering primarily during prolonged dry spells.

Maintenance: Low maintenance. Deadheading spent flower spikes is not strictly necessary as the plant is mostly self-cleaning, but it will encourage an even more prolific and continuous bloom.

Wildlife: Highly attractive to hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees; generally resistant to deer and rabbits due to its textured, aromatic foliage.

Hardiness: Perennial in USDA zones 8–10; grown as a fast-growing annual in cooler regions.
