English Lavender 'Hidcote Blue' | True Lavender 'Hidcote Blue' | Common Lavender | English Lavender (Lavandula) Hidcote Blue

Bring timeless beauty and calming fragrance to your landscape with Lavandula angustifolia 'Hidcote Blue', one of the most popular and reliable English lavender varieties available. Known for its deep violet-blue flower spikes, compact growth habit, and high essential oil content, this award-winning perennial plant is a top choice for gardeners, landscapers, and herb enthusiasts alike.

Belonging to the Lamiaceae family, this Mediterranean shrub produces a dense display of aromatic, silver-gray foliage topped by slender spikes of vibrant purple blooms, typically appearing in mid-to-late summer. It holds its structure and color well even when dried, making it ideal for decorative and culinary use. Ideal for full sun locations, it performs beautifully in herb gardens, sensory plantings, borders, pathways, and containers while also attracting bees, butterflies, and other beneficial pollinators. Low-maintenance and drought-tolerant once established, this semi-woody shrub is a water-wise choice for xeriscaping and sustainable landscapes, offering dependable year-round structure with minimal care. It is deer- & rabbit-resistant, not considered invasive, and provides dependable year-round structure with minimal care.

Growing Lavandula angustifolia 'Hidcote Blue'

Light: Full sun; requires at least 6 to 8 hours of direct sunlight daily to maintain its silvery foliage color and ensure prolific blooming.

Soil: Well-drained soil; thrives in gritty, alkaline, or sandy textures. It is essential to avoid "wet feet," as excellent drainage is the key to its longevity.

Water: Low; once established, it is a remarkably water-wise plant. Allow the soil to dry out significantly between waterings to mimic its native Mediterranean habitat.

Maintenance: Low maintenance; prune lightly in early spring to shape and again after flowering to encourage a potential second flush and prevent the base from becoming too woody.

Wildlife: A premier pollinator plant; specifically attracts bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects; highly deer & rabbit resistant and salt-tolerant.

Hardiness: Cold-hardy perennial in USDA zones 5-9; known for being one of the hardier lavender cultivars, standing up well to both winter cold and summer humidity.

Safety Note: Toxic to dogs, cats, and horses if ingested in large quantities due to the presence of linalool; please plant with caution in areas accessible to pets and livestock.

Customer photo review of Medinilla Myriantha 'Malaysian Orchid'

Very healthy cutting. Followed the instructions and let it get acclimated to its new surroundings for a couple of weeks before repotting. Would not hesitate to purchase from this business again 😃

Customer photo review of Pink Swamp Milkweed

Plants arrived in great condition. This plant has only been in the ground about 10 days and is growing a lot. The plant cage is 12” tall so it’s doing well. I put guards around my new plants for a little while because I have bunnies who love tender young leaves.

Customer photo review of Mystery Plant

I got 2 mystery plants (one indoor and one outdoor). The indoor was a pilea and the outdoor plant was a white blackberry. White blackberry was dramatic, but it’s making a comeback and the pilea is doing great!

Customer photo review of Musa 'Red Dacca' Banana

Need to upgrade your packaging. I would suggest taping the plant in place in the cardboard tube on the count that it slid and smashed itself. Luckily, it's a strong plant and should recover. Hoping.for the best.

Customer photo review of Pomegranate 'Dwarf Red'

This little guy came in perfect. Despite the cat knocking it over and being placed in the soup cup for safer keeping, it’s thriving and happy. Once it’s bigger then it will make its way outdoors.

Customer photo review of Violette de Bordeaux Fig

I received what I believe is a very healthy plant. Unfortunately, the shipping was very hard on the plant. It is quickly bouncing back. Wish I would have known it was a seedling .

Customer photo review of Violette de Bordeaux Fig

The package arrived with no issues. The fig was very stable & looked like it came out of the nursery (it did). The USDA certificates for Gypsy moth /Japanese beetles ensures the plant were checked makes me feel I finally found an institution which cares about the customer & plant. Thanks Jose

Customer photo review of Musa Truly Tiny Banana

I’m excited about this tiny banana tree and can’t wait to see it grow more! It came well packed and in perfect shape. Now this beautiful little plant has burned leaves, but that’s my fault because I left it out on my patio in the sun for a long time. Don’t do what I did. But you can see a new leaf already sprouting in the middle and just about to unfurl. I have no doubt this tiny tree will grow well.

Customer photo review of Black Organic Raw Honey

The flavor is bold and complex—less of the light, floral sweetness you get from typical clover honey and more of a deep, almost molasses-like richness. It has a rich, robust profile, and it definitely delivers on that promise. The texture is thick and smooth, exactly what you’d expect from raw honey. It pours slowly and coats well, making it perfect for drizzling over toast, yogurt, or even pairing with cheeses. It may be a bit intense for those used to lighter honeys, but for anyone who appreciates bold, natural flavors, this is a standout choice.

Customer photo review of Semi Dwarf Dapple Dandy Pluot Tree (Plum & Apricot Cross)

They were very helpful and sent me a beautiful dapple dandy and a nice polinizer. The polinizer was not quite as large as the dappled dandy but still looks like a nice tree. I'm waiting for the polinizer to come out of dormancy and hopefully when it does then I'll be completely satisfied. I would purchase from this company again if the polinizer survives the shipping experience.
