Frosty Angel Wing Begonia is a mesmerizing, shade-loving tropical perennial (widely grown as a spectacular indoor house plant) prized for its striking, asymmetrical, heavily silver-frosted leaves with finely traced dark green veins and deeply contrasted rich burgundy undersides. This exceptionally tough, cane-like selection is known for its vigorous, upright habit and delicate clusters of pale pink to white bell-shaped flowers that bloom prolifically throughout the year under optimal conditions. It thrives in high ambient household humidity and bright, indirect light, making it a spectacular, low-maintenance thriller for indoor tabletops, brightly lit living spaces, and shaded summer patio containers. Growing Frosty Angel Wing Begonia
Light: Bright, indirect light; thrives in dappled shade or near a bright window when grown indoors. It requires strict protection from harsh, direct sunlight, which will easily scorch its delicate, highly pigmented leaves, though too much shade will cause it to lose its striking silvery vibrancy, become leggy, and significantly reduce flowering.
Soil: Rich, airy, well-drained soil; prefers a highly organic, chunky potting mix amended with perlite and fine orchid bark to retain adequate moisture while ensuring excellent aeration and drainage. It is extremely susceptible to root rot in heavy, waterlogged soils.
Water: Moderate; water regularly to keep the soil evenly moist, allowing the top inch or two of soil to dry out completely between waterings. It strongly dislikes being completely dried out, but absolutely will not tolerate sitting in standing water. Provide high ambient humidity to prevent crispy, brown leaf edges.
Maintenance: Exceptionally low maintenance. Pinch back the growing tips or prune tall, leggy cane stems regularly to encourage a much bushier, denser branching habit and a renewed wave of vibrant foliage. As the plant matures, provide a small bamboo stake to help support its tall, upright canes.
Wildlife: Generally grown indoors; its sap contains toxic calcium oxalate crystals and is mildly toxic to pets if ingested. Outdoors, its thick foliage is naturally deer-resistant.
Hardiness: Perennial in USDA zones 10–11; widely grown as a spectacular, fast-growing shade annual in cooler regions or overwintered indoors as a vibrant, year-round house plant.

Plants arrived in great condition. This plant has only been in the ground about 10 days and is growing a lot. The plant cage is 12” tall so it’s doing well. I put guards around my new plants for a little while because I have bunnies who love tender young leaves.

I got 2 mystery plants (one indoor and one outdoor). The indoor was a pilea and the outdoor plant was a white blackberry. White blackberry was dramatic, but it’s making a comeback and the pilea is doing great!

The plant arrived after a few delivery reroutes. It came with three leaves two so far are healthy one was dying and has since died. The two remaining leaves appear to be doing well.

I’m excited about this tiny banana tree and can’t wait to see it grow more! It came well packed and in perfect shape. Now this beautiful little plant has burned leaves, but that’s my fault because I left it out on my patio in the sun for a long time. Don’t do what I did. But you can see a new leaf already sprouting in the middle and just about to unfurl. I have no doubt this tiny tree will grow well.
