Osage Blackberry is a vigorous, sun-loving deciduous fruiting shrub prized for its spectacular, reliable profusion of exceptionally sweet, medium-sized, glossy black berries that boast an exquisite, rich flavor without the tartness found in many older varieties. This exceptionally tough, completely thornless selection is known for its remarkable, strictly erect habit that requires minimal trellising, making it a highly productive statement piece for any edible landscape or dedicated berry patch. Growing Osage Blackberry
Light: Full sun; thrives in bright, direct sunlight (at least 6 to 8 hours per day) to produce the most abundant, sweetest fruit, the strongest canes, and maintain a tight, sturdy upright form. Too much shade will cause the plant to become leggy, stretch toward the light, and significantly reduce both fruit yield and proper ripening.
Soil: Rich, airy, well-drained soil; prefers a highly organic, slightly acidic loam amended with compost to retain adequate moisture while ensuring excellent aeration and rapid drainage. It is extremely susceptible to root rot in heavy, waterlogged clay, especially during the dormant winter months.
Water: Moderate; water regularly to keep the soil evenly moist, allowing the top inch of soil to dry out completely between waterings. It performs best and produces the plumpest, juiciest berries with consistent, deep moisture during the intense heat of the summer fruit-swelling period.
Maintenance: Exceptionally low maintenance and completely thornless for effortless harvesting. Prune out the older, woody fruiting canes (floricanes) right to the ground immediately after the summer harvest is complete, leaving the fresh green new growth (primocanes) to produce next year's crop. Tip the top of the new canes in early summer to encourage a much bushier, denser branching habit and higher fruit yields.
Wildlife: Highly attractive to bees and spring pollinators; local birds will enthusiastically seek out the sweet, ripening berries unless protected by garden netting. Its thornless canes are occasionally browsed by deer.
Hardiness: Deciduous perennial in USDA zones 6–9; exceptionally cold-hardy and reliable across a wide range of climates, dying back slightly in winter before surging with vigorous new growth in spring.

Osage Blackberry plants are shipped as healthy young starts in 4" nursery pots. Allow 1–2 weeks after arrival for plants to recover from shipping and resume active growth before repotting or planting outdoors.

It's doing really well. I will be transferring it to a bigger pot probably by the weekend. I wish I had a little more instructions on how to care for this variety, and what to do in the fall.
Plants arrived fine.. got them planted. Now i will let you know next spring. If they survive and grow back.. So far, i am ok with them

Package came delivered just like it said it would I pulled it out it looked good. I put it in some water for about a half hour and put it in my 30 gallon tub and I got three things to go with it.

Plants arrived in great condition. This plant has only been in the ground about 10 days and is growing a lot. The plant cage is 12” tall so it’s doing well. I put guards around my new plants for a little while because I have bunnies who love tender young leaves.

I got 2 mystery plants (one indoor and one outdoor). The indoor was a pilea and the outdoor plant was a white blackberry. White blackberry was dramatic, but it’s making a comeback and the pilea is doing great!

Need to upgrade your packaging. I would suggest taping the plant in place in the cardboard tube on the count that it slid and smashed itself. Luckily, it's a strong plant and should recover. Hoping.for the best.

The plant arrived after a few delivery reroutes. It came with three leaves two so far are healthy one was dying and has since died. The two remaining leaves appear to be doing well.
