Blueberry Table Grape Vine (Vitis vinifera ‘Blueberry’) is a unique and flavorful grape variety prized for its rich blue color and sweet, juicy berries that resemble blueberries in appearance and taste. Clusters of medium-sized, seedless grapes ripen in late summer, offering a crisp texture and a hint of tangy complexity that sets them apart from traditional varieties. Perfect for fresh eating, fruit platters, or even drying into raisins, Blueberry is both delicious and eye-catching. Vigorous and productive, it is an excellent addition to home gardens or backyard vineyards for those who want a standout table grape.
Growing Blueberry Table Grape Vine
Light: Requires full sun to develop the sweetest flavor, vibrant color, and reliable yields.
Soil: Prefers fertile, well-drained soil; adapts well to sandy or loamy soils with added compost or organic matter.
Water: Water deeply and consistently during the growing and fruiting season, reducing once the fruit is harvested. Avoid overwatering to prevent root issues.
Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced grape or orchard fertilizer in early spring and midsummer to support strong growth and fruiting.
Pollination: Self-fertile; one plant can produce fruit without a pollinator.
Maintenance: Prune in late winter to remove spent canes and maintain healthy fruiting wood. Train vines on a trellis, arbor, or fence for best cluster development.
Hardiness: Best in USDA zones 5–9. Ripens late summer to early fall with high yields of sweet, blueberry-like grapes.
