New Gold Lantana is a vibrant, sun-loving herbaceous perennial (often grown as a fast-growing annual in cooler climates) prized for its spectacular, continuous profusion of intense, pure golden-yellow flower clusters that bloom prolifically from early summer all the way until the first frost. This exceptionally tough, heat-tolerant selection is known for its natural mounding habit. Its intensely nectar-rich blossoms are an absolute magnet for butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds, making it a spectacular, low-maintenance filler for sunny landscape borders, rock gardens, and in mixed patio containers. With its bold, bright color and reliable performance through challenging heat, humidity, and dry conditions, New Gold offers an extraordinary display of vibrant summer blooms with exceptionally straightforward care.
Growing New Gold Lantana
Light: Full sun; thrives in bright, direct sunlight (at least 6 to 8 hours per day) to produce the most abundant blooms, the strongest stems, and maintain a tight, dense form. Too much shade will cause the plant to become leggy and significantly reduce flowering.
Soil: Light, well-drained soil; highly adaptable to poor, sandy, or rocky soils as long as drainage is excellent. It is extremely susceptible to root rot in heavy, waterlogged clay, especially during the cold, wet winter months.
Water: Low to moderate; water regularly until established, then allow the top few inches of soil to dry out completely between waterings. It is exceptionally drought-tolerant once mature and strongly dislikes consistently wet feet.
Maintenance: Exceptionally low maintenance. Because it is largely sterile, it requires no deadheading to maintain its continuous flowering. Lightly shear the plant back in mid-summer if it extends out of bounds to encourage a fresh, dense flush of foliage and a renewed wave of blooms. In frost-free zones, prune hard in late winter to maintain its shape and encourage vigorous new growth.
Wildlife: Highly attractive to butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds; naturally deer- and rabbit-resistant due to its strongly aromatic foliage.
Hardiness: Perennial in USDA zones 8–11; widely grown as a spectacular, fast-growing summer annual or container plant in all cooler regions.

New Gold Lantana plants are shipped as healthy young starts in 4" nursery pots. Allow 1–2 weeks after arrival for plants to recover from shipping and resume active growth before repotting or planting outdoors.

Plant arrived quickly and came in good shape!
Package came delivered just like it said it would I pulled it out it looked good. I put it in some water for about a half hour and put it in my 30 gallon tub and I got three things to go with it.

Plants arrived in great condition. This plant has only been in the ground about 10 days and is growing a lot. The plant cage is 12” tall so it’s doing well. I put guards around my new plants for a little while because I have bunnies who love tender young leaves.

I got 2 mystery plants (one indoor and one outdoor). The indoor was a pilea and the outdoor plant was a white blackberry. White blackberry was dramatic, but it’s making a comeback and the pilea is doing great!

Need to upgrade your packaging. I would suggest taping the plant in place in the cardboard tube on the count that it slid and smashed itself. Luckily, it's a strong plant and should recover. Hoping.for the best.

The plant arrived after a few delivery reroutes. It came with three leaves two so far are healthy one was dying and has since died. The two remaining leaves appear to be doing well.
