Pink Princess Philodendron
Pink Princess Philodendron (Philodendron erubescens ‘Pink Princess’) is a rare and highly sought-after tropical houseplant, admired for its dramatic dark green to nearly black leaves splashed with vibrant pink variegation. Each leaf is uniquely patterned, making every plant a living piece of art. Its climbing habit and bold foliage make it a striking choice for indoor displays, whether showcased on a moss pole, trellis, or allowed to trail from a decorative container.
Growing Pink Princess Philodendron
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light to maintain strong pink variegation; avoid low light, which may reduce coloration, and direct sun, which can scorch leaves.
Soil: Thrives in a rich, well-draining aroid mix with organic matter and chunky amendments such as orchid bark or perlite.
Water: Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil dry out. Keep soil evenly moist but never soggy to prevent root rot.
Fertilizer: Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a balanced, diluted liquid fertilizer to encourage lush growth and vibrant variegation.
Maintenance: Prune back leggy growth or leaves with little variegation to promote fuller growth and more colorful foliage. Provide climbing support for best leaf development.
Hardiness: USDA zones 10–11; frost-sensitive and best grown indoors as a houseplant in cooler climates.
