Baby Joe Pye Weed | Eupatorium dubium ‘Baby Joe’ | Dwarf Joe Pye Weed | Eutrochium dubium ‘Baby Joe’
Baby Joe Pye Weed is a stunning, sun-loving herbaceous perennial prized for its spectacular, continuous profusion of large, dome-shaped clusters of fuzzy, mauve-purple flowers that bloom prolifically from mid-summer well into the fall. This exceptionally tough, compact selection is known for its remarkable, sturdy upright habit and rich dark green foliage, offering all the dramatic beauty of traditional Joe Pye Weed in a perfectly scaled-down size ideal for small-scale plant cultivation and independent garden spaces. Its intensely nectar-rich blossoms are an absolute magnet for bees, butterflies, and pollinators, making it a spectacular, low-maintenance thriller for sunny landscape borders, rain gardens, and mixed patio containers. With its bold, architectural texture and reliable performance through challenging conditions, Baby Joe offers an extraordinary display of vibrant late-summer color with exceptionally straightforward care.
Growing Baby Joe Pye Weed
Light: Full sun to partial shade; thrives in bright, direct sunlight (at least 6 to 8 hours per day) to produce the most abundant blooms, the deepest purplish stems, and maintain a tight, compact, upright form. Too much shade will cause the plant to become leggy, weak, and significantly reduce flowering. Soil: Rich, moisture-retentive soil; highly adaptable to clay, loamy, or average soils. Unlike many perennials, it excels in damp areas and wet conditions where other plants might struggle, though it requires decent drainage to prevent crown rot during the cold, dormant winter months.
Water: Moderate to high; water regularly to keep the soil evenly moist, allowing only the very top surface of the soil to dry out between waterings. It strongly dislikes being completely dried out and performs best with consistent, deep moisture, especially during the intense heat of summer.
Maintenance: Exceptionally low maintenance. Leave the spent flower heads standing through the winter to provide architectural interest and essential seeds for foraging local birds. In late winter or early spring, shear the old foliage back to the basal rosette just before new growth emerges to maintain a tidy appearance and encourage a dense flush of fresh foliage.
Wildlife: Highly attractive to bees, butterflies (especially swallowtails), and late-season pollinators; naturally deer- and rabbit-resistant due to the rough, coarse texture of its foliage.
Hardiness: Perennial in USDA zones 4–9; exceptionally cold-hardy and reliable across a wide range of climates.

I am so very impressed with this company! I had bought one of the mini banana trees first, which started dying right after I got it. After contacting the company, they agreed to give me a credit, with which I bought these two honeysuckle plants. Please excuse the weeds & bad fencing. Hopefully these little plants will grow up & cover the fence. I will be working on weeding and continuing to build a flower bed at the base of the fence. Thank you Blossomdale! I look forward to buying more plants in the future.

The fig trees arrived today in small pots very well packed. I removed them and watered them. I will let them "rest" for 4 to 5 days before I repot them and prepare them for winter, inside. Very pleased with these trees. After getting other sellers rotten packing jobs this was a real treat. I may buy more in the spring of 2027.
Store owner replied: Thank you for your kind review, Donald! We're delighted your fig trees arrived well-packed and in good condition. We appreciate your support and hope they thrive through the winter! :)

Healthy and beautiful! A little smaller than I expected.
Store owner replied: Thank you for your feedback, Rosetta! We're glad to hear your plant arrived healthy and beautiful. We appreciate your feedback about the size and hope your plant grows and flourishes! 😊
I was very impressed with how well my 18 little lantanas were packed. All looked healthy and I planted them yesterday. It was a little difficult unpacking them but that’s the price I paid for having you pack them so well. I was a little worried when I saw UPS coming to the door with the box slung over the driver’s shoulder despite the fact that the box was marked with an ⬆️ and it said live plants. But all is well. Now if I can just keep them alive.
Store owner replied: Thank you for your review, Beth! We're glad your plant arrived quickly and is doing much better. We appreciate you choosing Blossomdale! 😊
Lovely little guy-- impossible to find coral honeysuckle at my local nursery for whatever reason. I really appreciate that the Blossomdale staff kept it and nurtured it a little longer so it would be more robust for the trip. Can't wait to put it in the ground and watch it thrive :-) Will order from them again.
The mahoi double banana tree delivered on time, perfectly protected from shipping damage, and ready to plant. Love my new banana tree!
It was my very first plant I order online so I wasn’t sure what to expect but when it got here and in one piece and as long as it is I was shocked but very HAPPY.
It's doing really well. I will be transferring it to a bigger pot probably by the weekend. I wish I had a little more instructions on how to care for this variety, and what to do in the fall.
Plants arrived fine.. got them planted. Now i will let you know next spring. If they survive and grow back.. So far, i am ok with them
Erigeron Karvinskianus Fleabane ‘Santa Barbara/Mexican Daisy'
Just waiting for when they get big and tall and start producing bananas.
Plant arrived quickly and came in good shape!
Package came delivered just like it said it would I pulled it out it looked good. I put it in some water for about a half hour and put it in my 30 gallon tub and I got three things to go with it.
Banana tree came nice and healthy and ready to go!

Haven’t transplanted yet, but it’s a beautiful plant. We are gifting it to a friend that moved…Friendship Plant is very appropriate!
I love it
Truly tiny is still tiny but healthy!
It seems to be doing well but could have been packed better.
Blossom Dale did a wonderful job with packaging and Sedum Autumn Joy plants arrived in great condition and are thriving. So far so good.
The milkweed is not doing well...
Very healthy cutting. Followed the instructions and let it get acclimated to its new surroundings for a couple of weeks before repotting. Would not hesitate to purchase from this business again 😃
Plants arrived in great condition. This plant has only been in the ground about 10 days and is growing a lot. The plant cage is 12” tall so it’s doing well. I put guards around my new plants for a little while because I have bunnies who love tender young leaves.
Got this for my wife’s birthday. Plan to pot it soon.
I got 2 mystery plants (one indoor and one outdoor). The indoor was a pilea and the outdoor plant was a white blackberry. White blackberry was dramatic, but it’s making a comeback and the pilea is doing great!
Came in well packed and the plant was alive and healthy!
Even though the newest leaf was broken off it seems to be doing well
My little banana arrived happy and healthy!
The plant arrived well packaged with instructions on how to get started. It had been doing really well and has been growing like a weed!
It is just putting roots down now.
Received in great condition, transplanted just before heavy rain and its thriving
